The human face as a screen of memory figures prominently in the sculptures, drawings and public works of this renowned Catalan artist; it continues to do so in this exhibit, timed to coincide with the unveiling of his latest outdoor piece, at Madison Square Park. The highlight here is a series of mixed-media portraits on paper, shown last year at the Musée Picasso in Antibes, France. They feature the likenesses of unnamed individuals representing a wide range of ages, races and ethnicities, all wearing similarly indistinct expressions, as if to evoke the countenance of someone vaguely remembered, or caught in the mind's eye.
