Jean-Frédéric Schnyder

This show represents the U.S. debut of the self-taught artist, who, while well represented in Venice Biennales and Documentas past, is little known in this country. On tap are small-format landscape scenes that are at once fairy-tale bucolic and fraught with terror—as in one painting featuring a smiling sun, a family of swans and a mushroom cloud on the horizon.
