Born in 1923, Keen is something of a legend in the U.K., where he was a pioneer of Britain's ’60s and ’70s underground movie scene (all the while supporting himself as a landscaper for the public parks department in his native Brighton). A painter as well as a filmmaker, Keen creates art that's a delirious stew of Dada, Surrealism, Pop Art and punk; this is his first exhibition in New York.
