Josh Faught, "Longtime Companion"

The San Francisco artist presents tapestry-like works that are pieced together from strips of discarded fabric, and also incorporate found objects. Elegiac in tone, they are meant to evoke the AIDS quilt and the health crisis that, thanks to contemporary medicine, has receded into history, though not from memory.
