For more than four decades now, the signature works of Judith Bernstein—a cofounder of A.I.R Gallery and a charter member of the first wave of feminist artists who emerged in New York during the 1960s—have consisted of furiously scrawled, large-scale drawings of an unrelentingly thrusting form that combines the shape of a screw with that of a penis. This pocket survey in the NewMu's Lobby Gallery presents a selection of same.
