Viewers have reportedly fainted at screenings of this British artist’s videos, perhaps with good reason: Her work takes abjection to new heights, with scenes of surgical procedures and models slurping worms among other images that test the limits of what you can stomach. Based on edits of her previous work, Simnett’s five-channel light-and-sound installation “exposes the subtle mechanics of violence and control that surround us” according to curator Helga Christoffersen.
