A filmmaker as well as founding member of the legendary Threadwaxing alternative space in Soho (now closed), Miguel Abreu began his venture into dealing in 2006. Hosting a highly intellectual series of performances, art theory seminars and film screenings, as well as exhibitions, the gallery represents conceptually inspired artists. The list includes R.H. Quaytman, who creates hauntingly enigmatic images silk-screened onto wood panels; Eileen Quinlan, whose abstract photos have a similarly evasive if self-referential quality; and Blake Rayne, whose heavily coded paintings and objects delve deep into the philosophical foundations of art and representation.
