Milton Resnick, "The Elephant in the Room"

This show looks back at the work of Resnick (1917–2004), the irascible New York School painter dubbed "the last Abstract Expressionist." In fact, his thickly impastoed canvases could sometimes wander into minimalist monochrome or even—late in his career—figurative landscapes. This selection focuses on works from the 1960s to the 1980s.
