Nick Goss, "herz man sky"

The title of this British artist's solo debut in New York is taken from the name of a thrift shop in Vienna, whose wares offered some of the inspiration for the paintings and works on paper in the show. Other sources for these compositions, characterized by delicate washes punctuated with heavier brush marks, include Socialist Realist art and comic books.
