Oliver Wasow, "Studio Portraits"

Using his friends and family members as the subjects for his photographic portraits, Wasow revisits the time-honored method of posing someone in front of a studio backdrop resembling a landscape. But he gives the approach a digital twist: He actually used a green screen, adding the background later. What's notable about these photos, though, is the way that they appear burnished with age, even with obviously contemporary sitters, whose presence somehow seems to convey the weight of eternity.
