Oscar Tuazon and Eli Hansen, "Oh Brother"

This collaborative project filling both of Maccarone's spaces was sparked by the death of a close mutual friend of the artists, and in fact, intimations of mortality do seem to hover over this ragtag installation of objects, which includes a stoved-in commercial van, a kind of fountain made from a continuously overflowing toilet, and a lamp made of glass beakers and bongs. The inclusion of tires wrapped around a dead tree trunk and doors leading to nowhere adds to the palpable sense of being at the dead end of the road.
