Pfeiffer first hit the big time in the early aughts, winning the $100,000 Bucksbaum Award at the 2000 Whitney Biennial with digitally elided videos and photos of athletes and sporting events like basketball games and boxing matches. This show, Pfeiffer's first since 2007, takes as its point of departure an elaborate hexagonal playroom built for the Los Angeles mansion of hoops legend Wilt Chamberlain. An architectural model of Wilt the Stilt's pleasure den—which looks startlingly like one of Dan Graham's mirror and glass pavilions as imagined by the art director of Magnum, P.I.—serves as the centerpiece.
