"Petroleum Jelly"

The product in the title of this group exhibition—featuring Polly Apfelbaum, John Burtle, Kirsten Nash and David Zuttermeister—is namechecked because of the way it blurs an image when applied to a camera lens. The show makes the case that these artists analogously soften the contours or content of their work.
