"Projects 97: Mark Boulos"

Boulos's two-channel video installation, All That Is Solid Melts Into Air, contemplates the vicissitudes of the global oil economy by focusing on two groups on opposite ends of the petroleum spectrum: frenetic commodities traders at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and a group of Nigerian fishermen who are also members of a militant movement opposed to the extraction of oil (among other environmental depredations) in the the Niger Delta.
