Richard Prince, “Original”

When he’s not busy fending off lawsuits for intellectual property theft, Richard Prince makes art and collects rare books and related ephemera, concentrating particularly on cheap paperbacks from the 1950s and 1960s. The two activities have previously intertwined (most notably in his soap-opera noir “Nurse” paintings) and do so again here in this presentation of pulp-fiction tomes along with their original cover art, some of which he’s signed as his own work because, well, he can.
