Satoru Eguchi, "Pastime"

Somewhat like the German photographer Thomas Demand, Eguchi uses paper to create seemingly lifelike interior scenes and objects. But Demand's style is rigorously precisionist, and he applies it to build sets for his camera. Eguchi, on the other hand, creates exquisite sculptural installations on their own with an evidently hand-wrought quality that makes them appear all the more uncanny.
