Time Out says

Photography played an integral role in the oeuvre of the late German painter, who took thousands of pictures over the course of his career. The selection here, presented in collaboration with Winckler Fine Arts, Berlin, includes portraits of friends, views of the artist's studio and shots of rather gnomic arrangements of common objects (a pickle straddling a pair of lightbulbs, for instance). Also on view are Polke's spooky snapshots of catacombs in Sicily, as well as the results of his experiments with exposing color film to radioactive materials.
