Time Out says

The New Museum inaugurates its new next-door street-level gallery at 231 Bowery with the American museum debut of Spartacus Chetwynd, the rather elaborately named British artist known for creating carnivalesque performance-installations that feature handmade costumes and sets. The productions themselves are characterized by a potpourri of historical theatrical styles—from Brecht to puppet theater—and character references spanning Mae West and Jabba the Hut.
