Focusing on time-based work and artists who have come to prominence in the past 15 years, this exhibition, which showcases both items drawn from the Guggenheim's collection and pieces that have been loaned especially for the show, has as its central theme the structure of translation. This takes many forms, including the literal translation of languages through text, but also the translation required to interpret cultural meaning. Patty Chang, Keren Cytter, Lisa Oppenheim, Paul Chan, Brendan Fernandes, Sharon Hayes, Carlos Motta, Jenny Perlin, Sharif Waked, Omer Fast and Steve McQueen all have pieces on view.
