The Propeller Group, "Lived, Lives, Will Live!"
Time Out says
Like a lot of artists from countries with a past or current Socialist government, the members of this Vietnamese collective (who divide their time between Los Angeles and Ho Chi Minh City) deal with the cultural impact of Communism. However, given the decade that South Vietnam spent as an American client state, it's fitting that the Propeller Group uses Hollywood celebrity to frame its disquisition. In this show—the group's New York solo debut—the familiar official portrait of V.I. Lenin is given a tonsorial makeover with hairstyles borrowed from Leonardo DiCaprio’s filmography.
