Noir meets antiquity in Tracy Molis's paintings of Greco-Roman busts based on photographic negatives. Stenciling her images onto canvas with spray enamel, Molis employs a kind of chiaroscuro in reverse, transforming the ideal of whiteness that has long been embraced by Neo-Classical art into something deeply sinister.
