Walton Ford, "I don't like to look at him, Jack. It makes me think of that awful day on the island"

Ford, whose exacting watercolors of various fauna could be described as a trippy take on the paintings of James Audubon, presents two new, simian-related bodies of work: a group of portraits of King Kong, and a series based on Audubon's childhood memory of his mother's pet monkey capturing and strangling another household member, a pet parrot.
