Yinka Shonibare, MBE, "Addio del Passato"

One could say the installations, videos and photographs of this Afro-British artist celebrate the decline of the West, and in this respect, his latest work—which continues his signature depiction of Enlightenment themes in colonial-fabric drag—doesn't disappoint. Among the offerings here: photo reenactments of suicides based on scenes from famous Old Master paintings, and a somewhat similar reimagining of Lord Nelson's death during the Battle of Trafalgar.
