“Bat-Manga: The Secret History of Batman in Japan”

Riding the success of the ’60s TV show, DC Comics licensed the character to Japanese publisher Shonen Gahosha. The resulting comics were the subject of a 2008 book. Artist Jiro Kuwata’s original pages from the collection—including nearly 50 from the story “The Sea Monster of Goa,” in which the Caped Crusader goes up against a Godzilla-like creature—are on display.
