Since the Great Depression, the Bryant Park Reading Room, an open-air library, has been offering books and periodicals to people visiting the midtown park. Grab a book or magazine and relax. In the warmer months, the BPRR also hosts an excellent series of author events, in which notable writers discuss their work in the middle of the workday—literature for lunch.
