Harlem Meer Social Hour: Kwanzaa Songs

Instead of guzzling a postwork brew in some stuffy bar, head to the monthly happy hour at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, which overlooks the northern end of Central Park’s Harlem Meer. At this installment, cohosted by the Museum for African Art, learn about the history and customs of Kwanzaa from Abdel R. Salaam, artistic director and cofounder of the Forces of Nature Dance Theatre. A traditional African-dance performance from three of the group’s members follows his talk.
