Time Out says

African-American inventor Lewis H. Latimer worked as a draftsman for Alexander Graham Bell, improved the filaments that are found inside lightbulbs and patented a toilet system for railroad cars in 1874. This Queen Anne–style house was his home from 1903 until his death in 1928.
