Mark’s Good News: The Gospel Like You’ve Never Heard It

Time Out says

Exorcisms and healings, wisdom and witticisms, trials and executions, miracles galore and a literally death-defying hero—it all adds up to first-century storytelling at its finest. Professional voice-over narrator (and Time Out New York staffer) Stephen de Francesco performs a dramatic reading of the Jesus Seminar’s vernacular American translation of the gospel according to Mark, the earliest written of the canonical gospels (c.65 C.E.), which would have been presented orally to the first Christians. This is a rare opportunity to hear “the greatest story ever told” in one evening in its original, very pre-Hollywood entirety, the way it was meant to be experienced and in a language we actually speak (2.5 hours with intermission).
