Time Out says

Topping our list of kooky (and seriously creepy) Victorian fads is postmortem photography, in which newly dead corpses were posed to appear lifelike. Head to the Merchant House Museum for an array of 19th-century daguerreotypes and prints in this genre; then take your own mock-mortem photograph in the museum's reproduction coffin.
