New York Public Library, Picture Collection at Mid-Manhattan

The main circulation branch in Manhattan may not have the high-culture cred or iconic good looks of the Stephen A. Schwarzman building across the street, but what it lacks in aesthetics, it more than makes up for in inventory, services and free public programming.
