“Playing with Fire: 50 Years of Contemporary Glass”

This exhibition notes the jubilee of the birth of Harvey Littleton’s American Glass Studio movement, which acquainted the fine-art world with glassblowing 50 years ago. See items from the museum’s contemporary collection as well as pieces on loan, spotlighting artists such as Peter Bynum, whose multilayered painted-glass triptych will be displayed on lightboxes as its own kind of cathedral window.
