This expansive park covers the entire island underneath the Triboro Bridge across the river from Astoria on one side and upper Manhattan on the other. They have been working on upgrading the many ball fields across the island and they are looking great. A bike path almost goes around the entire island. While biking you'll pass a farm and they have a horse back riding academy as well. The island is not devoid of cars, but many parts of the island are quiet and serene, most of the time. Weekend soccer and baseball games are loud when in season. The views of Manhattan are fantastic and its pleasant to just sit near the shore and soak in some sun. They also have Icahn Stadium, which hosts various track and field events. There is also a large field behind Icahn Stadium that hosts music festivals during the summer. There is also a John McEnroe tennis center, and a golf center.
