"Reimagining the Waterfront: Manhattan's East River Esplanade"

In fall 2011, nonprofit group CIVITAS sponsored a contest that challenged architects and designers to transform a neglected area between FDR Drive and the East River from 60th to 125th Streets. See the top eight proposals, as well as photographs of the area throughout history.
