Kicking off the New-York Historical Society's "The Civil War: 150 Years" lecture series, historians James M. McPherson (Battle Cry of Freedom), Craig L. Symonds (Lincoln and his Admirals), Adam Goodheart (1861: The Civil War Awakening) and moderator Harold Holzer will look at the first incursion of the American Civil War, the Confederate bombardment of Fort Sumter.
