The jiggly food product may not be the most structurally sound material to work with, but it sure yields some interesting creations! Artists are asked to make sculptural, edible objects using Jell-O—past events have seen such entries as a sushi platter, a trophy room (complete with mounted bear and bull heads) and molded red replicas of the Virgin Mary (sacrelicious!). This year, entries will be judged by a panel of culinary and artistic experts, including pie aficionado Emily Elsen of Four and Twenty Blackbirds; plus, attendees can vote on their favorite wobbly piece to win the People’s Choice award. Jell-O shots will, of course, be served.
