In conjunction with MAD's "Global Africa Project" exhibit, which features artists whose work deals with the African diaspora, this event will examine the ways in which media and fashion address radical identity—from Italian Vogue's issue of all black models to the latest Tyler Perry flick. Cultural arbiters on hand include magazine editors Bethann Hardison (Italian Vogue), Oroma Elewa (Pop'Africana) and Emil Wilbekin (Essence), as well as writer Lola Ogunnaike (The New York Times).
