To the Rockaways, By Rail and Bus!

Rather than ride the usual A train out to the Rockaways, cruise there in an R1/9 car from the 1930s provided by the Transit Museum. Once at the park, you can grab lunch at the new gastronomic paradise along the boardwalk, or take a vintage MTA bus over to Gateway National Recreation Area. The train boards at 11am, but tickets, which are available at the museum, will go on sale that day at 9:30am.
