The owner of the blond-wood coffee shop the Elk in the West Village took her talents across the East River to open a bigger, boozier sister spot. Claire Chan's bar in Williamsburg is outfitted with a front café serving Parlor Coffee and pastries from local bakers during the day, while the back-room cocktail bar has small bites and cocktails mixed with Asian-tinged ingredients like lemongrass, toasted rice, black sesame and miso honey.
