Time Out says

Neighborhood hipsters seem to have taken up permanent residence at Barrio Chino’s rough-hewn wooden bar. The venue’s goal of giving tequila the sipping credibility of Scotch may be undermined by the jicama or lime garnishes and the accompanying glass of sangrita (a tomato-citrus nectar)—but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Fifty tequilas are available ($7–$40 per glass), and tacos from the bar menu help soak up all that booze.

Good selection of drink options on their Happy Hour Menu. We came with a networking group of about a dozen of us but we were early enough to beat the crowd and really have the place to ourselves around the bar. The food was great. Tacos were excellent and the chips and guac were excellent. Definitely would recommend this place as an option.

If you like spicy, and I mean spicy, margaritas, you gotta try this place at least once--they were one of the OG bars on the spicy cocktail scene. Jalapeno has got a kick, but the habanero grapefruit is for serious spice addicts. Have guacamole nearby.

It's definitely not the cheapest Mexican spot, nor the best, which is why I gave it three stars, but if you're in the area and craving some heat, you should definitely check it out.

If you've read any of my reviews because you know this is my type of place.... except that it wasn't! Our waitress was extremely off-putting and we like spicy but the jalapeno marg was literally undrinkable I had to sent it back. Then I got the marg that she had said was "less spicy" and it was also horrible. The food was fine but we came because it was supposedly best margaritas in the LES and left unimpressed.

Really solid Mexican spot!! Came for brunch and had a very pleasant experience; the staff was nice, the vibe was cool, the food was delicious. I had:

Chips and Guac - delicious. The complimentary salsas are also very good, ranging from mild to extra hot.

Jalapeno Margarita - SPICY. But delicious.

Al pastor tacos - these were bomb. The tortillas are soft and yummy, the pork is perfectly roasted with pineapple, and it's topped with white onions and tons of cilantro. Also $8 for 2 which is pretty reasonable,

Will definitely come back to try all the other tacos they have. 4 stars!
