Greenpoint is definitely not off the beaten path, but finding this spot on a quiet street makes it feel like you've stumbled into a huge secret. As NYC gets colder, start going here. The quiet, cozy vibe is perfect for an autumn date night (each booth has a set of folding doors!) and the drinks are reasonably priced. There's weekly trivia on Tuesdays, and it's currently a low-key affair - perfect for friends who just want to hang out instead of getting competitive.

One of my favorite bars in Greenpoint. The inside is really cool looking, they have reasonably priced beers, an outdoor seating area, and trivia on Tues nights. The booths have swinging doors on them if you want privacy, and a lightswitch you can turn on to call the bartender over. The only con is that they have a VERY limited food selection, they have sliders, chips, and pickled veggies that are meh. So don't come here hungry!
