The Rock’s proximity to Madison Square Garden isn’t the only reason to visit this bar: There’s a sizable selection of tap and bottled beers and enough TVs to keep you abreast of the action. Elbow room is plentiful most nights (unless the Knicks or Rangers are hosting a team worth watching), and the respectable burger clocks in at just $7. If you’re still set on scoring courtside seats, chat up ticket holders over free “wings and things,” served after every home game.

There are several bars to choose from within close proximity of Madison Square Garden, but the Blarney Rock is your best choice for a classic dive/sports bar. Rangers fans flock to this place on game nights so be prepared for a crowded bar when the Blueshirts are in town. The bartenders are friendly and attentive and the food is surprisingly good for a pregame meal. You'll surely get more bang for your buck opting for a burger or wings at Blarney than waiting to get inside the arena. For the spring and summer months, the roof top bar is a great option!
