Boogaloo Bar (CLOSED)

All sleek white interior, artful track lighting and modular seating, this hideaway oozes Barbarella cool. A long, narrow front room leads to a small dance floor and DJ station (Latin, house, hip-hop and funk tend to rule the turntables). Rum is a house specialty (some 50 varieties), but bartenders are knowledgeable enough to fix any number of exotic combos. The phrase lawsuit waiting to happen will inevitably come to mind as you climb the metal ladder and scramble through the tiny porthole leading up to the roofdeck (open Fridays and Saturdays, May through October). Band occasionally play up here, and bar service is available—but be careful not to indulge too much: That ladder is even scarier on the way down.
