Don’t count on the slow, blasé servers to help you navigate the two-page wine list or short tapas menu at this butter-hued UWS joint. A silver-haired crowd loiters over middling plates like gluey ham, cheese and mushroom croquettes paired with a junky pimento aioli. Intriguingly tangy red and golden beets showed a glimpse of promise thanks to slivers of brisk Valdéon blue cheese, but desserts—unremarkable chocolate empanadas—disappointed. You’d be better off drinking your calories with port or sherry.

This was a local for the husband and I when we lived basically next door about 6 years ago. We loved it every time. Great pork belly, and a really strong wine selection.
Either this review is staggeringly unfair or they have improved a lot in three years. I visited here twice, Fall 2012 and January 2013, and found it outstanding on both occasions. Flavorsome food, friendly service, excellent value. You really should go back.
