Not surprisingly, rye dominates the cocktail list created by Luis Mendez (Mercer Kitchen) at this lobby lounge in the Lipstick Building, where barkeeps fashion their own ginger beer and bitters for quaffs like the Old-Old Fashioned, infused with hickory smoke.

Four words - late night happy hour. Crimson & Rye's reverse happy hour is every day M-F and lasts from 8pm to close - perfect for anyone who works late! This applies to draft wine & beers, and Mondays they have $1 oysters. There's also a spacious outdoor seating area, which is rare in NYC! The cute little lounge-like bar has great seating and a quaint bar, but it's in the lobby of the Lipstick building (it's not separated by more than a little partition). The bathroom situation is also bizarre - expect to deal with security, elevators, and keys just to find it.

This cool spot is much welcome in an otherwise desolate area of nightlife. They'll fashion you any drink you like in addition to quite an extensive And creative cocktail menu. And snacks are delicious too. We recommend the flatbreads or tuna tartare...but come early because they do get crowded...and run out of certain items.
