The folks at the bar won’t do your laundry while you sip your pint of Old Speckled Hen. The name refers to the storefront’s past life as a laundromat. Everything else is pure English pub, including the Tuck Shop meat pies, dark wood interior and earnest devotion to good beer (there are 19 varieties on tap). During happy hour, weekdays from 3 to 8pm and 1 to 8pm on weekends, all drinks are half off.

I went here last night with some friends and from the outside it looked super crowded and I almost didn't go in, but I'm so glad I did! I live in stuytown so this place is right around the corner from my apartment and it might have just become my new favorite place. I ordered 4 drinks and payed $28 total which is absolutely unheard of. It's very large inside, they have a huge selection of beers (and a few ciders) plus there lot's of good food nearby for when you get hit with those late night drunchies.

I will be visiting again and again in the near future.

This divey bar has a fantastic happy hour: from 3 to 8pm, $3 beers and $5 craft beers, plus some other discounts on liquor and wine, but I am most preoccupied with the beer. The craft beer selection was actually good and included a lot of local beers. I had a smoked porter from Yonkers that was fantastic. My friends and I met here one night and went crazy. A happy that lasts till 8pm is a beautiful thing for people who get off work later. Also, there was only one bartender at the time, but I thought she did a stellar job of managing the crazed patrons on her own.

What a hidden gem! Great beers on tap, cheap drinks for a fun low-key bar. Big booths make it great for starting a girls night or just catching up casually with friends. Definitely has that neighborhood bar feel. I live in the area and have walked past a million times and just thought it was another grungy dive bar, but it's actually really nice inside! Very easy going place to get drinks.

The tap at this suds bar is fantastic, and you can't beat the prices. There's no way the greatest beer snob can't find something to satisfy them here. There's no food, but they are cool with you bringing in takeout. The vibe is low-key, but there's always a good crowd. Sometimes a local will have one of his dogs in there. It's a neighborhood bar with regulars, but the spot often attracts people from other hoods who go for the selection and easygoing atmosphere. Pony up to the bar or tuck into one of the booths for a long night with friends. And you can count on a big crowd for some of the bigger sports games.

A great beer selection at unheard of prices. Their happy hour is legendary - $3 20oz beers.  And we're talking a legit selection of european and american craft beers.  They don't have a kitchen, but you can order in some delicious meat pies.  There's also a good taco joint next door.
