Post up at a 42-foot-long counter for espressos and craft beers at this rustic café-bar from the Alewife team. In a room lined with keg pallets and light fixtures fashioned from plumbing parts, sip one of 30 draft brews, orange wines or Brooklyn Roasting Company coffee. Chef Michael Haigh (the Vanderbilt) crafts a bar snack menu featuring house-made pickles, charcuterie and crostinis.

Standard LES bar - lotssss of beers available but often hard to track down a waitress or bartender if the bar is packed. The bathroom situation blows - one stall and no spot for a line and for a place that gets pretty crowded at night, its not ideal. Always a staple for a good time though.

If you can't find a beer you like here, you have issues considering there are 30 taps plus bottles.

I avoid the LES like the plague nowadays, but this is a pretty solid bar if you're forced to come to the area.

Great spot if your looking for a divey vibe in the LES. Large beer selection and lively atmosphere. Highly recommend the Craft Grilled Cheese!

Overall, this place is a solid outpost for a certain kind of reasonable beer minded evening. The place is always sort of, uncomfortably, but not too full - meaning you'll wait for a drink, and get pleasantly shoved. The prices are competitive for the area, and there is food on offer. The decor, atmosphere, and service are acceptable, but certainly not exceptional. The sort of place you'll go when other nearby options are too packed.

Love Fool's Gold for nightlife, especially in LES. It maintains a classy divey vibe that strays from the rest of the LES chaos. It can get fairly crowded, but never really rowdy, which is nice. They also serve food, but I've never really enjoyed it that much. I had a fairly blah brunch experience here and late night snack experience as well. Stick to the drinks!
