The best thing about this Slope spot is its jukebox, which is stocked mostly with homemade mixes. CDs are constantly rotated in and out, but if you settle into one of the joint’s wide wooden booths over a pint of foamy Boddington’s, you might hear Pavement, the Cramps and Hank Sr.—sometimes all on the same disc. The staff is so dedicated to its refined musical selection that when a White Stripes song began to get hefty radio play, it was cut.
