Antique trading-route maps and wooden sailboat models hint at this handsome bar's nautical namesake: the line that hoists a sailboat's flag. Find draft beers (Ommegang, Victory) and a curated selection of small-batch spirits (Bunnahabhain Islay Scotch, Breuckelen Gin, Crop Vodka) at the sleek mahogany bar. Small plates—porchetta sandwiches, cured meats and grilled cheeses—make up the food offerings.

Um, how did I live in Carroll gardens for a year and never know about this place? Cute Gowanus bar, great for a drink before or after a show at the bell house. Nice decor and a good rustic feel. The bartenders were very nice and drinks are least for Brooklyn. $7 for a gin and tonic in NYC is probably the best you're going to get. It's a pretty large area so good for a crowd and they have a pool table in the back if you're into that. The food looked amazing but we had already eaten so I had to pass. They also had a pretty good looking brunch, will definitely go back!
