Owner Gus Anton says it’s hard to get small distributors to the northernmost nabe in Manhattan, but the 16 craft taps and 50 bottles and cans that he serves demonstrate his powers of persuasion. The industrial bar in front is ideal for getting cozy when it’s cold, but the tented area in back was made for alfresco drinking during warmer months. Breathe in the rarefied uptown air as you sample Original Sin’s apple-cider brew, Smuttynose Javahead stout or Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale. On the first Saturday of the month, fork over $30 for unlimited access to all of the bar’s drafts—and select wines—from 10pm to 1am.
