Bars, Wine bars Lower East Side
5 out of 5 stars

It’s easy to find a beer in this town for $5—so why not a fine glass of wine? To our rescue comes this subterranean, grottolike café on the Lower East Side; an abbreviated menu includes cheese and charcuterie plates, panini and mini-quiches.

Came for date night on a Friday and waited around 10 minutes for a table. The heat is very strange in here and there's a pole in the front of the restaurant so other tables were moving around a bit and they kept the door open. Nonetheless, this place is easily one of my new favorite wine bars. Plus - they have a killer menu. We sat at the bar and got a great 1/2 carafe of red wine and split some cheeses/meets and got this unbelievable flat bread with roasted butternut squash, zucchini and caramelized onions - YUM! Great service, great vibes. Cute couch area in the back that would be so fun for a bigger group and some Cards Against Humanity.

Celebrated my birthday here and could not recommend the space more. On weeknights, you can reserve the couches in the back area for no charge and have a whole cozy living room to yourself. Low lighting, brick walls and a solid wine list make this place a must.
